The event will increase awareness, educated, and provide resources for suicide and intentional overdoses, as well as substance misuse and abuse among this demographic.
Event will include 3 youth peer speakers who have dealt with some form of mental illness, substance abuse, and/or suicidal thoughts. The event will also include the movie screening of the movie My Ascension which is about a teenage girl who survived a suicide attempt. This event is designed to be a fun day for the girls to include information and education as well as “swag bags”, food, fun, and social interaction.
